Camogie Championship
Fullen Gaels opened their Senior Camogie Championship campaign with a
3-08 to 1-02 win against Fr.Murphys at Pairc na hEireann on Saturday
last, 16th June.
It was a real battle with scores hard to come by early on and both
teams fighting for everything. Gradually the Fullen Gaels girls gained
the upper hand, reaching the half way mark with a 3-06 to 0-02
scoreline. The second half was a different story, with Fullen Gaels
only scoring 2 points to Fr.Murphys late goal. Overall it was a great
team performance and the girls now face Croydon on Saturday next 23rd

Camogie:
Our camogie team travelled to Birmingham on Sunday last to play their
very first Senior League game against Tara. Unfortunately they lost by
the narrowest of margins on a score line of 2-09 to 2-08. It was a
great team effort and our girls should not be dishearten, as Tara
reached the All-Ireland Junior Camogie Final last year.
Training Continues Tuesday and Thursday`s at 6:45 in Hough End. If you
fancy taking up camogie or returning to the sport then please contact
Karen-07512199217.
Hurling:
Our Hurlers return to the training pitch this week after a well
deserved break. At the moment our players travel from Liverpool,
Chester, Bolton and all pockets of the North West, with training at
our base Hough End in Manchester, meaning there is always a lift
going!
Fullen Gaels have great links with a top recruitment agency in the UK
as well as to construction companies in and around Manchester so for
those thinking of relocating to the North West we may be able to
provide opportunities off the pitch as well.

Our camogie team had our first outing on Saturday last 10th March. We
were fortunate to have a large number of girls available so we entered
two teams on the day with a few extra girls from Liverpool Hope
joining us too.
Our two teams were grouped together along with Fr. Murphys and Erin go
Bragh. Our first team successfully ran out winners of this group and
went onto meet Croydon in the semi finals, where after a hard battle
ran out convincing winners on a score line of 1-8 to 1-1. In the final
we faced Fr. Murphys who we had already beaten on a score line of 4pts
to 1pt in our first game. We got off to a flyer, putting over two long
range points, but then Fr Murphy`s got a goal to leave the half time
score Fr Murphy`s 1-00 to Fullen Gaels 0-02.
The second half started, with us getting a point immediately to
equalise, but Murphy`s fought back with a similar score. We then went
ahead by a point but Murphy`s fought back and at full time the game
was level Fr Murphy`s 1-02 Fullen Gaels 0-05. As light was fading it
was decided 5mins a half of extra time would be appropriate. Both
sides wanted the trophy, but Fr Murphy`s goaled quickly into the first
half of extra time and just before half time, leaving us trailing at
the break. We desperately fought back, but unfortunately we could not
manage to equalise. Fr Murphy`s ran out winners on a score line of
3-03 to 0-05.
Our girls should be extremely proud of themselves as this was our
first outing as a registered team, it`s onwards and upwards for Fullen
Gaels as we enter the 2012 Senior Championship.
Our panel on the day: Caroline McKeeney, Caroline McKay, Ciara Walsh,
Kath Nolan, Laura Masterson, Michaela O`Reilly, Clare McGowan,
Michelle Rogers, SarahAnne Smyth, Ger Connolly, Karen O`Leary, Sinead
Boyle, Sheila O`Sullivan, Rose McCarthy, Niki O`Reilly, Rachel O`
Farrell, Sarah Wright, Maria Clarke and Una Haren.
Also a big thank you to our coach Deckie Walsh for giving up his time
to help out on Saturday and for putting up with 19 girls for the whole
day!

Hurling
Our lads have done us proud this year by reaching the Semi-final of the All Ireland Junior Hurling Semi-final. Unfortunately they were beaten by a strong Charleville side who have won the Cork and Munster Championship this season. Hopefully a short break and back into training for this coming season will lead to another successful season.
