
Oisín`s have began the long road to the championship with their first challenge game of the year against Preston University side UCLAN. The game very nearly didn`t go ahead as weather conditions in Manchester were very poor following heavy snow and sleet the day before the game. After a pitch inspection the game was given the green light and both teams played the game in good spirits although the weather meant the contest was far from a vintage one. Liverpool Wolfe Tones GAA club notes January 2012
Preseason training began on Tuesday 31st January at a brand new private gym in Speke, Liverpool (near airport). Both the men’s and ladies team will be training in this new state of the art gym. The gym isn’t even opened to the public yet but has opened it`s doors to the Tones to allow Preseason training. Both teams will be training at the gym every Tuesday and Thursday nights for 10 weeks. the odds to become CYC champions Beating the giants of New York County u18’s in the final. So

Hurling
Our lads have done us proud this year by reaching the Semi-final of the All Ireland Junior Hurling Semi-final. Unfortunately they were beaten by a strong Charleville side who have won the Cork and Munster Championship this season. Hopefully a short break and back into training for this coming season will lead to another successful season.

St Brendan`s GAA, Manchester now Recruiting for 2012
St Brendan`s GAA Manchester are Lancashire`s most successful Gaelic club. The club is already planning ahead and we are currently looking for new players to join the squad in time for the upcoming 2012 season. We would like to build on last year`s Senior Championship Final appearance and hopefully go one step further in 2012. Training for the squad is scheduled to begin in March.
