John Mitchels of Liverpool have extended their run of trophy wins by beating Manchester club Oisins in a pulsating final at Greenbank yesterday.

It was a re-match of last years league final with both clubs looking to take first blood in the Lancashire competitions.

The sides are making a habit of meeting each other in finals but their next meeting is to be in the championship semi finals on September 13th.

The weekend’s arranged Pennine league fixture against St. Lawrence’s was cancelled at the last minute as St. Lawrence’s were unable to field. The management team took advantage of the sunshine by holding an intra-club match and the good squad of players who turned out allowed for 15-a-side game, giving the players their first taste of ball-work for the season. The management team were satisfied with the exercize, and were happy with the efforts of a couple of close-season signings....
